One of the most widely used methods is to compartmentalise buildings in order to reduce the risk of fire spreading: the so-called firewalls.
Precast concrete systems are particularly well suited to this purpose, given their fire resistance and high structural strength. Concrete solutions neither deform nor collapse under high temperatures, unlike other construction alternatives.
